Bad day for my astra (help?)

Well I popped in to town to pay a cheque into the bank, i must have been gone all of 10 minutes and come back to find my car clamped and these two men asking for £70 which I didnt have.

They said I've got an hour to pay it or it'll be towed away and cost £140 to get back. I ended up calling everyone in my family asking if they could lend me the money, my dad's away in germany and he was my only hope really. In the end my Girlfriend paid for it and is now very unhappy with me

Then I get home and now the light inside near the rearview mirror wont turn off (like it usually does once you close all the doors) and so I've had to unhook the battery. Any ideas why it's doing this and how I can turn it off?

edit: my head unit was also turning on, i've unplugged the wires from the light and now this doesnt happen.

I dont know, perhaps. I've not had the car long so I'm clueless I'll go fiddle around with it now.

Aye, when I got my golf (and first car) it took me weeks to realise how to turn the headlights on without mainbeam. Oh well

Yeah, I made sure I got details and all that. It's a bitch cause I parked there all the time in my shitty golf, which honestly wasnt even worth the £70 to get it unclamped and it never did get clamped, first time I parked my astra there, boom clamped

My missus almost made me take it into Vaux and complain. I kept asking her "have you read the manual?" "yes" she replied always. On the phone to vaux to give them a bollocking really wound up as the missus was giving me ear ache, the engineer told me to check the light switch and just push it in.

DAM YOU WOMAN MAKING LOOK A FOOL!!!!

My advice read the manual .
