    Dirty Vandals

My car was in the bodyshop last week to repair the damage that some w*nker did when they hit my car and drove off:

I got the car back on Friday and the workmanship was excellent. Only to find last night that it has been keyed on the same panel that just had the work. There are 4 scratches arranged in such a way that it was 100% intentional. I tried T-Cut'ing them, and it seems to have filled in the colour, but they're still quite bad.

I really feel like crying! £500 spent for someone elses mistake only to have to get it done all over again. Hopefully it wont cost as much, but even so...! I've requested a quote from chips-away and i'll ask the bloke at the bodyshop it was in to give me a quote too..

It's not the first set of scratches either, so I'm asking for opinoins here.

    Should I:
    a. get an aftermarket alarm with proxi sensors to warn people away
    or
    b. get a thick car cover

Can you not park it on a drive? I had trouble like that when I first got my astra and I fitted a cctv camara with a light sencing flood light so if anyone went on my drive, they would be lit up like a christmas tree and been recorded on camara.

gutted for you. I just had a new bumper, and about 2 weeks later someone has driven into it and left a nice big scratch when it was parked.
    Nice thanks.
You can get covers which you can lock on, my mate has one for his porker, expensive but might be worth the investment...

    Option c: shotgun sounds good

I thought maybe the proxi sensors might draw unwanted attention to it. I think the car cover is the best bet.

It normally is parked on the drive way and I don't know if it was there it was actually done!!

I may get a flood light and some cctv. I suppose the cctv can hook upto either pc or a vcr? Sounds like a very good idea actually!

You can get naff ones from argos where you have to leave you VCR on record (i got that one first) but the are more expensive digital ones that record on to a harddrive and can store up to 5 days, then automatically records over its self again unless you need to use the footage. Well worth the investment I think.

yeah get a camera on the house pointing at the car, also i think if you let your house insurance know that you got cctv it brings that down abit, not certain though
