    possible clutch situation?

For the best part of 3 months now its been increasingly harder to pull away nice and smooth with minimal effort (.i.e just routinely coming up on the clutch). I have to massage and give her some extra lovin on the way up... tampering it and upping the revs a bit. It has also slipped a fair bit on a couple of occasions pulling away quickly.

Bit of a bollock as ive shelled out for new pads, discs and tyres all round recently. If its on its way out, how much longer can it go? and what cost am i facing to replace? Ive heard its a bit of a ball-ache job... there is now 70k on the clock if thats any help. dont know how long they are supposed to last?

if its slipping, then i would not drive it. it could damage the fly wheel and then your looking more wear. i had the same problem so i got rid of the car not worth the money or hassle to repair to be honest. in my opion vauxhall will do it properly and charge around near 1k as i was quoated or you can pay 40 and get it done at a back street garage and have prblems...this is just my view as i had the experience.

More like £5-600 mate, and a fair bit less if you go to an independent garage

/\/\ As above - circa 5ton at Vx but Id only expect about 300 at an inde garage. As for Vx "doing it properly" - er Id rather go to an idependent thats for sure - any thing to stay clear of those robbin b@stards at Vx!!!

get a quote asap and get it fixed as a matter of urgency. Dont risk it!

thanks peeps. I'm guessing it would be cheaper to source the parts myself, but what exactly do i need? Just a 2.2 clutch kit? Or are there any other bits that could be replaced painlessly whil the car is in bits?
