Question How good are FK coilovers?

Currently I have the Weitec Ultra GT 50/30 suspension kit on my coupe turbo, however I havent been too impressed with this setup. The shocks dont fit flush with the rear axle so the forces from bumps are being transferred to the bolt holding the shock absorber to the axle. This means the bolts are beginning to 'shake loose' for want of a better expression.

Basically, I explained all this to the dealer I bought them from and they have been very decent with me, offering a discount if I want to change to another suspension setup.

Always fancied coilovers so I was considering the FK Silverline kit but I'm undecided whether to spend the extra to get the adjustable damping? How stiff is the setup on the silverlines? Do I need the adjustable damping?

Any other recommendations would be helpful. Please state what setup your running and if you've had any problems with fitting/corrosion etc

    Much obliged!!

    I have FK's on mine.

Great ride and comfort as they have 'helper springs' that take the smaller bumps.

The threaded bit does corrode thouth which is a downside if you dont look after them.

About every 3 months I take my wheels off for a good clean and clean up the threads and they have been fine for me.

BUT once you have set them how you want I doubt you would change them anyway

yep, apart from the corrosion they are great. Much more comfort than i imagined with coilovers, and can lower the car a lot.

Thanks guys. I'm quite lazy so I dont plan on adjusting them too often!

Do the silverlines corrode at all?

I've heard about the corrosion problems on FKs but its been suggested that the silverlines don't suffer this problem?
