    Smoking Diesel

    Ive got a Y20DTH in mine, and it smokes like a chimney. im not talking about when youve got ur foot planted in to the floor, but wen u just need to accelerate away. is there anything you can do to get rid of the smoking? also any remaped theres? is there any difference or does is smoke more?

    As Simon says, if there's no smoke, there's no poke.

    That said, mine was very smokey, but I reduced the smoke output by cleaning the EGR out. Reasonably simple to do if you can work a socket set.

    Ive got veccy-c air intake and deristricted air box, any1 know where to get a cheap remap done?

    See the silver pipe at the very front of the engine, the one with the 3 bolts sticking out the top? You need to remove the plastic cover to get all 4 bolts out, remove the black air pipe off, disconnect the little electical wire and vacuum pipe to the actuator, then off it comes. You'll find the inside of the pipe is probably totally gummed up with black tar.

    I cleaned mine out with a diesel/petrol mix (very flammable) and a stick. Block the little pipe going into the actuator, and remove the little temp sensor, then let it steep in the petrol/diesel mix for a while, that'll losen the dirt. there's a channel runs inside the pipe, it's important to get that clean, as the exhaust gases swirl along that.
