Mine stays roughly at about 90 most of the time. Just had the colling system flushed this yar so that maybe explains why its staying level - ish?

Mine tends to the same 80-85 but sometimes drops below 80. Maybe the more cold air that goes in when moving?

since the cold weather has started mine doesnt seem to move any further than 80 unless stuck in traffic, in fact most of the time its below 80

i had the radiator replaced a couple of months ago due to a pipe rubbing against it and causing a big hole and all new antifreeze put in does this sound right to you are do you think the thermostat is on its was out

if so a new thermostat is about £29 are they easy to replace

My 1.8 auto sits very consistently at 87 normally but can go up to 91 in traffic. My son's 1.6 sits at 82 but doesn't go up in traffic.

Given the inevitable minor variations in gauge and/or sensor it's more important that your gauge reading is consistent rather than comparable with other Astras.
