I have just picked up an R reg 106 with 77k miles on the clock. Its a 1.1 injection. Under the cap I have found some small traces of water oil contamination (mayo) but Im aware a little of this can be caused by condensation. But I have also checked the coolant and found a layer of oil floating on it. Now the oil in the coolant is very brown yet the oil on the dip stick is a clean as a whistle because its just had a service. I have suspected a gasket failure but the car seems fine. I have removed the oil from the water and will check it again tomorrow. Could this oil be from a previous gasket failure?
