Smile CCTV footage in Machester of retractable bollards in use

Apparently the council in Manchester installed some retractable bollards to stop people using bus lanes, watch the link below from CCTV footage.

    TBH thats a bit harsh

the one with the black merc and the one with the van obviously couldnt see the bollards due to the vehicles in front

where as the first one deserved it as they seen the bollards then waited for the bus to go through

the air bag went off in the merc

The worst of it is the first one tries to drive off!!

And the guy who hit his head on the windscreen... should have been wearing a seatbelt!!

am I the only one reading this thinking that anyone using a bus lane that isnt supposed to is in the wrong! therefore whatever happens is nobody's fault but their own.

As for the guy hittin his head on the screen - again its his own fault - if it was a normal RTA and that happened - everyone would be saying "well thats what ya get for not wearing a seatbelt" - Personally I dont see any difference.

Anyway, the majority of them were either going far too fast or travelling too close to the vehicle in front - especially that guy in the merc considering there was pedestrians about to cross.

They are in the wrong, but surely there should/must be signs?!

Some people say that multi stop drivers are exempt, but not all. My sister in law does multi drop deliveries for a courier company and got fined for not having a belt on.
