    Running in a Turbo

Car is in the process of having a new turbo fitted (hopefully under warrenty). Is it safe to put the car on a rolling road at the xmas party, or will that be too much strain on a new unit, should it be gentally run in?

Tuners put new turbo's on and then generally put them straight on a rolling road! so I wouldn't worry about it too much......your new turbo will be under warranty anyway reagrdless of whether it gets replaced under warranty this time....I wouldn't mention that you had it on a RR though if it does go!

So long as you prime the turbo before you fit it it should work at full pelt from the off.

Looks like they won't be covering it, so will be getting a VXR unit i think, which won't be covered by any sort of warrenty either (from what i have heard on here)

Sorry but how do you 'prime' a turbo?

sorry should have been clearer, when you about to fit it you can pour some oil into the hole that the oil feed attaches too, then maybe spin the blades to circulate it around the turbo, this stops it suffering from oil starvation when you first start the car.
