The Sports Cat is coming off after 2 days...

Hoffmann Sports Cat fitted on Tuesday, unbelievably noisy, my 2.0 suddlenly resembled a VW Beetle with it's thrashy racket. Posted a Q when it was fitted whether this was the norm, but with my N/A car it's unbearable.

Have asked the guys at Online Auto Sport for some help with this, as I now seek a Lexmaul Manifold as a consolation prize...

im no expert with this but when they fit it I went back to front with them and there didn't appear to be any probs then. There was a diff with the diameter between the cat and centre section so they overlapped it and heat-joined them together, so perhaps this is the prob?

Shouldn't make a huge difference to noise, mine didn't when it was done.

i'd be seriously looking at the join they say theyve fixed. The difference in pipe diamater would result in the problems u have been experiencing.

I had the same on a recent pipe of mine (albeit not a performance cat) - ended up getting the two pipes welded together and perfect now.

Perhaps I should seek a second opinion with a reputable exhaust fitting centre (hmmm who...) and then get them to weld. I have noticed my back box is an inch further back than it was before.....

Get the engine running (on idle )and stick a scrunched up rag firmly over the tail pipe for a few seconds- if it's leaking you'll hear it cuffing away under the car.

Hoffman gear is quality stuff, and I doubt the cat is at fault
