    Post Red leather?...

Looking at some Astras to buy and wondered if red leather is a good choice? Does it crack and fade? Does it look good in person?

    Thanks

I've not seen a pic of a Astra Red leather interior that actually does it justice.

    Looks stunning in real life.

All leather cracks and fades if it's not been looked after, it needs cleaning and "feeding" regularly with leather care products.

If it has been treated correctly, it can look as new as the day the car rolled out of the factory.

Also scratches and grazing on the leather can be "removed" by a specialist. Costs a bit, but you can use that as a bargaining tool when you buy the car, knowing you can get it fixed.

    Think it suits it.

Not complete red (red + Black) but here are some pictures of my red leather interior.

As said just look after it and treat it.

OddJob bought some Ox Blood Leather for his Motor! Look Tidy!

Just got to be careful that the bolster wear hasnt gone to far! the odd crack can be touched up using specialist products!

That's cool. The pics look really good.

I'll see what happens as the car's got to be right. As well as the seats.

As Dave has said I put in some Oxblood leather seats from a coupe into my 5 door hatch. In fact just today I managed to source the door sensors for the side airbags which I can't have wired up as they trip the airbag warning light without the door sensors, here's hoping the wiring is in place for them
Few pics so you can see how they look, they have been in a while now and still look as good as they do in the pics, I use Gliptone leather restorer every few months which keeps the leather supple and smelling lovely. I've got plans to have the 4 door cards retrimmed to match although I do have the coupe door cards in Oxblood but no use to me I'm afraid. They look very red in the pics but they are not, the 2nd pic shows the true colour best I think.
