    Interior courtesy light bulb LED

I have got a LED for my interior light and it works fine and very bright but noticed it stays on a little bit when faded out??
    is this normal??
can it be altered so it goes out completly??

nah - due to the nature of all LEDs (ie the low current at which they need to operate) they will light up when power is off ...if that makes sense.

say for instance when power is off. there may be a current of 3v in the system - the LED will still light up albeit just ever so slightly.
Fit a standard halogen bulb and it wont light up even though the current would still be the same - the halogen unit needs the full voltage to light up.

Basically what Im saying is - all LEDs are like this - dont worry about current drain on ur battery - it would be the same in a normal bulb was in there - just LEDs are able to light up using the small voltage in the system.

Confused???? Sorry for the bad explanation

Someone will be along with a better one shortly

Makes sense to me, but in case you need a laymens terms answer

The electrical system in any circuit carries a small charge constantly.
The LED bulbs can bit lit, albiet only very low light, by this tiny charge, a standard bulb cannot.

So to keep LEDs you have to live with the small light.
