    Severe weather!!

Well, we (up in the Highlands) have had torrential rain over the last couple of days. Its caused landslides, fallen trees, floods, evacuated homes etc etc.

To make matters worse, I have worked in the same hotel for near 10 years and this is the first time I have not been able to get to work due to weather conditions. Its not rained since about 11am, but on my way to work (only one road) there is a standing flood which is at least 18 inches deep, all across the road.

The police van is doing a convoy system through it, but the water would be too deep for my lowered coupe!

Would anyone here have risked it?!

Well, thats the thing. I enjoy my work and was on with an excellent team tonight, so would have liked to go in.

But I am not going to risk engine/interior flooding. I need to borrow a 4x4!!

I am only about 40 miles north of Inverness, but even down there is mostly closed.

Took me 1 hour 40 minutes to do my 7 mile commute across Belfast this morning, due to various roads flooded out, and the associated traffic jams.

Been dry here all morning though, but seriously windy.

I'm in County Durham and we had horrendous rain last night, it's starting again right now.
Though, I can't complain and my car is super clean now

Its madness. Just tried to go there again and its a bigger flood now! Called the boss and she was pretty sharp with me!

I'll ask her tomorrow if she would have risked her 19k focus st in that 'puddle'

Oh the joys. I have the fire lit now and am going to enjoy a day of doing feck all!! Tomorrow and Saturday at work (if I can get through) then holidays for a week!!
