    125bhp 1.8 or 140bhp 1.8vvt which is best?

    Hi guys

Has anyone driven vauxhalls new 1.8 vvt engine??? The 140bhp one?? Im just wondering how it compares performance wise to the older 125 bhp one.... Is the difference noticeable???

Plus how easy is it to free up extra horses on the newer engine?? If i take the cat off.. how much is a replacement pipe likely to cost.. what if any implications are there to doing this..? The reason im asking is because ive been offered a new 125bhp engined car cheap at my local dealers and im wondering if its worth accepting...

    Many thanks

    Daz

the 123bhp engine is very good I must say mate, I dont even bother comparing it to other 1.8's anymore, its usually more on par with competitors 2.0 engines. Its a good torquey engine and produces ok performance when combined with the gearbox its given in the astra, I would reccomend it, but then I am biased

I bet that new vvt engine is really nice, if anything the Z18 (123bhp) needs more pull up top revs, which i reckon this new engine probably has, it sounds nice.
    323 BHP / 312 lbft.......
