    Alloy Wheel Offset altering?

Is it possible to get wheel offsets changed?

i have found some et 49 wheels which are 16s! i guess these will not fit my lupo gti which has a standard offset of 43? what could be done to make them fit?

the pcd is fine just the offset!

    thanks guys

Putting 5mm spacers on will lower the off set so ET49 will become ET44

now im with u!! all this is a bit confusing! lol

i think 5mm spacers would suit even though they would still be slightly off.

what other issues would i have fitting vauxhall wheels onto a vw?

    centre bore? width? etc

centre bore on a Vaux is 56.6, and IIRC VW bore is 56.1 or 57.1, please dont hold me to that, it's been months since I worked with wheels! If it's 56.1 the hole will be too small by half a mm, if it's 57.1, you ideally gonna wanna get some spigot rings made up just to take up that extra mm.

if the hole is too small. how difficult is it to get wheels machined to the correct bore?

also where would do it and how could you get spigot rings made to suit?

    cheers steve

I've just googled and the VW centre bore looks to be 57.1. You're only gonna need a slither of a spigot ring, unfortunately I wouldnt really know where to look, someone who machines metal I guess! Rusty recently put a thread up looking for someone who could machine metal, might be worth PMing some of the guys in there, he had a pretty good response.
