    Angry Vodafone locked Nokia N80

Does anyone work for Vodafone and able to allow me to use my N80
with my Orange PAYG SIM card (Personal) aswell as a Vodafone PAYG
SIM card? (Business - On order)

When using my Orange SIM, turn on phone it reads - SIM card not Valid?

Grrrr so asuming phone is locked to Vodafone? Is there anyway of being
able to allow my Orange SIM to work?

I have the box and all info IMEI, Item number, GSM number and barcodes
etc if any of these help?

    Also is this info correct?
In the United Kingdom, government regulator OFCOM dictates that
networks must release the unlocking information to customers for non-
contract handsets (e.g. Pay as you go) on request. Consumers who
purchase handsets under “Pay as you go” or a similar scheme are
purchasing the handset outright at the point of sale, this has in effect
made phone unlocking in the UK a consumer right.

    Thank you
    Darren

You can have your phone unlocked! Most phone shops do it now, costs about a tenna! :-)

    Sausages,
Tried two phone shops in town yesterday and both have told me the
software to unlock the N80 is not available at the moment!

Been told to go to the operator direct (Vodafone)

The n series of phones dont have any software to unlock them in anyway so they will not be able to be unlocked in any shop or from any seller on Ebay if you try that way. The only way you can do it is through your service provider in your case vodafone ( i had a 3G 6680 which when i phoned 3G to unlock it would have only cost me £10 )

Service providers happy to do this?
    What information will they request?
One other problem is I have no SIM card that will work with the phone?!

Account holder? So if the contract has ended (not my contract) and
the phone is sold to me, where do I stand when requesting for it to be
    unlocked?

Phone still locked, sent two emails this morning requesting info from Vodafone...

    Also is this info correct?

    m8, there is no unlocking software for the new BB-5 series nokia's (mainly smart phones e.g. n70, 6630, 6680, n80, n90, n91 etc.)

No one apart from the networks has the software to unlock these phones.

the only way you will be able to get it unlocked is via a remote unlock code supplied by the network that the phone is locked to. I think vodaphone may supply this code for £15-£20 i know other networks charge a lot more.

was the phone previously on a contract??? or bought as a contract phone???

did you buy the phone off ebay??????
Observe the masses and do the opposite
