    Lee GSI's Astra Coupe Turbo

    Bought my Astra about 18 months ago.

    Being as this was my first turbo car I took my time and spent months ready all about what to look for and what goes wrong with them which led me to Astrasport.

    When I bought it it was a standard spec'ed car as it used to belong to a lease company. Being an ex lease car it had higher than average mileage and a few marks on the body which ment I got it at a knock down price.

    First of all was to fit a set of FK coilover's and set them ready for my new alloy wheels, Irmscher grill and fit my Blueflame cat back exhaust system

    Next up was a set of 19" Dare EVO 5 alloy wheels and remove the badges from the boot.

    Next was the fitting of a set of FK angel eyes that I modded because the black ones that they sell werent what I wanted. I bought a set of chrome ones and then had the reflector bit sprayed gloss black so they looked more like the standard tinted style and not the matt black plasic the black FK ones were. I also changed the bulbs that they come with to white leds for a cleaner look. At the same time as fitting the angel eyes I fitted a Regal rear spolier and bonnet spoiler that helps hide the wippers to smooth the lines of the car.

    Next mod was a GSi front bumper (One of the best looking bumpers I think for the MK4 Astra) tinted the rear lights inc the brake light and colour coded the rear boot chrome strip.

    Whilst all the outside styling was being done I had been playing with the inside.

    I have fitted blue and red led's in the dash and all of the switches, Fitted my radar detector into a panel, changed the steering wheel to a MOMO millenium fitted a carpc and flushed in a 7" touch screen.

    That was it for a while untill the engine started to use oil so it was time for a rebuild. Whilst the engine was being rebuilt I fitted a new VXR turbo did the 2.2 airbox mod, fitted a quickshift and fitted some nice stainless bits.

    And this is how it stands now fitted with a Lumma LPC-R front bumper and Reiger side skirts and rear diffuser.

    Now getting all the bits together to tune the engine.

    I have a front mount intercooler and VXR injectors to go on.

    Also have redone the heater control LED's and added red LED's to the 'pointers'





    Flushed petrol flap now fitted too

    The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

    Not done an update for ages so so here goes.

    The car is now fitted with a leather interior including door cards and centre arm rest.




    The radar detector has now also been properly flushed into the ashtray area and the trim under it has now been replaced and colour coded for one with traction control button and heated seat switches that have also had the blue led treatment.



    Then I fitted one on the universal intercoolers of the net and a fast road cam to give me a bit more power.





    This is what a did on the rolling road at Regal Autosport.



    BUT as my car had the early engine with the crap rods and pistons this happened at 70mph just as I was changing up into 5th and leaving my oil and engine parts along the M27.











    Rod snapped, broke a piston, bent a few valves and put 2 holes in the block, One out the front and one out the back.
    The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...
