    coupe turbo possible boost leak?

    under acceleration there seems to be a a noise louder than the turbo its self but it sounds like leaking air type of noise iv checked the the pipes of the turbo can't see any thing loose or cracked. you guys any idea what the problem could be? any info would be great cheers.

    might be the standard dump valve letting some of the unwanted boost loose.

    does it have an aftermarket dumpvlave? that may stick open as mine did. other than that it does sound like you have a leak. have you checked the powerpipe?

    how do i check if its the dump valve? its standard and is the power pipe the one that goes over the engine? cheers

    yes mate power pipe goes over the engine on the right hand side if your looking at it (next to battery). don't really know how to check if its the standard dump valve, sorry.

    no it is the standard dv theres not much room to see anything though.

    I doubt that it is the std dv to be honest - they very rarely fail tbh. It is more likely to be a slpit hose somewhere.

    What you need to do is trace the boost pipe from the turbo outlet all the way through the intercooler and to the inlet manifold. If you have already checked the intercooler outlet to manifold then your culprit is probably the turbo outlet to intercooler inlet. The pipe arrowed in the picture (apologies and thanks to Craig for the picture!).



    If it is not this then tract all you vacuum pipes - the one from the OE dv and the one to the fuel regulator, although if you can hear the sound I doubt that it is one of these.
