Girlie Guide to fitting a spoiler!!?

    Hiya

was going to try and fit a new spoiler i got yesterday this weekend, was browsing thou everyones messages to see how to fit it, but still none the wiser.

Has anyone got instructions they could send me as i got it off someone from here it didn't come with any instructions just the spoiler.

Also, do i need to get strut braces and what do they do?
I might chicken out and get it done somewhere, do u reckon a vauxhall place would fit it?

Also do i need silicone stuff and where do you get it?

I thought it would be pretty straight forward but now i'm worried i'll mess it up.

    Thanks guys & gals!

Not sure? They would charge an awful lot though I imagine

    Try some of these:

try PMing some of the guys in the Western Region...
there should be someone local that can help you out!!!

oh, and I'm not sure what spoiler you have, but fairly sure you won't need strut braces to fit it.
They bolt across between the top of the suspension struts to stop the car body flexing when you corner!!

You may need stronger boot lifters depending on the weight of the spoiler, because if it is too heavy the standard lifters won't be strong enough and the boot won't stay open.
Like said above though these aren't strut braces

Personally i wouldn't even try to fit a spoiler myself, would take it to be done professionally, as the boot may need to be drilled as well. Shouldn't cost a lot if you go to a bodyshop, vauxhall would likely cost a small fortune.

If in doubt, get a bodyshop to fit it. If you drill holes in the wrong place or whatever then you'll be needing filler or a new hatch.

What size of spoiler is it, as i fitted my own to my car and all i had to do was fit a couple of double sided discs to each side of the spoiler where it sits on the boot lid and push down so that the discs stick to the lid which then gives you the positon for the holes to be drilled.

i think i read somewhere that someone fitted strut braces to balance out the weight or something!!! i know that you don't need them to fit the spoiler.

Thanks for your help, might try looking for some places in swindon, and if no luck there will go to vauxhall, obviousley don't wanna balls it up myself, rather pay to have it done properly!
