Dial lights not working & dim info screen.

    Hi,

I switched my lights on the other day on the way home and the dials (speedo, revs, fuel etc) failed to illuminate. The computer info screen dimmed so that it was very faint.

I've checked some of the likely fuses, but havent checked them all yet. I installed an aftermarked HU a week ago, but I have driven at night a few times since then. Everything else works.

Any ideas? It's an Astra G coupe turbo.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Hi Alex, and welcome to Astrasport.

Have you checked the dash dimmer wheel next to the fog lamp switch?

Cheers, Ffoeg - I should have checked that first. I don't know how I managed to knock it in the first place!

    Easily done

You're not the first mate, and you sure as hell won't be the last

Now you can concentrate on getting some picciss of the coupe up far all to see

As the Ffoegmeister has already pointed out - its a common mistake. I do it every time i clean the dash and every time without fail I knock the dimmer wheel and think Ive fecked the lights. So dont worry.

Welcome aboard anyway - now the sillyness is out the way lets concentrate on piccies!

Hopefully u will enjoy ur stay.

For a wider audience u may wish to post a thread in Chit Chat (just a thought!)

he he... It's so annoying when this happens.

Rack your brains for hours, pulling things apart, and finally when you give up, it is the most simplist thing known to man.

Ok, I'll start a new thread with pics. I suppose it's only polite that I do it properly.
