    caliper carrier for 1.6 16v sxi

    out of intrest how much should i be looking to pay for one of these ?

    new and used prices please


    phoned a vx dealer and been quoted £300

    yeah they called it a steering knuckle thou so i was a bit confused

    mmmm that seems a bit excesive to me. i'm pretty sure the caliper itself cost less than that. Double check to make sure they are quoting for the right part.

    IIRC the 4 stud Astras use a carrier which is part of the steering knuckle, the 5 studs don't, it's totally seperate. The price could be correct as he'd have to buy the complete steering knuckle to get the caliper carrier. Scrapyard seems to best bet to me, should be cheap as chips there.

    Oh ok. Didn't realise. i have 5 stud on mine so wouldn't have known this. Like you say try a scrap yard or maybe even ebay as a few parts do come up from time to time.

    does anyone know thw size of the tork bolt thats on the back of the carrier that attaches it to the hub

    sorry to put it in here but its sorta urgent

    it would be about £30 from a brakers
    the steering knuckle from a 5 stud car is £279 i know this as i had a box from germany at £39 each had to get 10 of them to get at that price
    I just sold them on in 308mm kits to 4 stud people
