Question Buying Shocks & Springs - What else I need to buy?

    Hi,

I am buying the Bilstien O.E. shocks and Eibach springs combo (I think!).

So the first question is has anyone got this combo on a Coupe? Because Bilstein lists the rear shocks as for hatch only, not Coupe - on the other hand the hatch and Coupe shocks should be the same! So I am a bit confused.

Second thing, other than obviously the shocks and the springs, is there anything else I need to buy? Do I need to buy any, like, bumpstops or seals or brackets or anything like that?

Final question (sorry!), how much would you expect a garage to charge for fitting all these?

    Many thanks.

instead of bumping an old thread with a "similar" question....why not ask the exact question itself rather than waiting for a reply to the original Q which might not fully answer what u want....

    Think that makes sense

What exactly do u need to know?

I too have bought the eibach springs and bilstein shock combo, do I need to buy anything else, or is it worth buying anything else to change at the same time - as my MOT is also coming up? I was thinking along the lines of new top mounts?

Second question also very similar was going to fir myself but realised I would have to buy spring compressors so was interested how much you lot paid for shocks and springs in a garage?

    cheers

You shouldn't need to buy anything else, but getting new antiroll bar drop links are adviseable as the old ones will probably creak like hell once it's lowered.

Cheap enough off ebay tho - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ASTRA-G-98-04-...QQcmdZViewItem

You'll also be needing an E20 socket if you're changing your rear dampers yourself.
