Cool New Turbo for Z20LET GSi Turbo

Hey, have any of you experienced getting a new turbo fitted for a Astra GSi Turbo. I just had my 3rd services and 1st MOT done for the car. The engine had experienced some poor pulling power after 3.5 RPN.

Monorep (Southall) said that I need a new turbo which they are fitting it in (good news is that my car is still under warranty, runs out in 3 days time )

Have any other members experienced the same thing? My mileage is 23k

    Thanks.
    Sunny

Very low mileage for a new turbo @ 23k !!

If the garage is doing it under warranty you shouldn't have anything to worry about

If its not smoking, screaming or using loads of oil, I would suggest that the actuator has gone a bit limp, and probably wants tweaking up a bit, hence the drop in performance higher up the revs, as the wastegate is blown open by the exhaust gas. If its a standard car I would be very suprised if the turbo has gone???

Dont worry mine was on its third turbo at that mileage so I got rid of it. it was only 2 yrs old then aswell. Vauxhall just kept replacing it saying they were a bad batch. I think there was something more fundementally wrong.

VXR turbos are cheaper than Z20LET turbos iirc, but cant see vauxhall doing that on warranty,
