So if you wanted to run 1.2bar boost

what would you need to do then ??

i mean surely these engines can go past 330bhp with a good hyke in boost, if the internals are uprated or is it a simple design flaw that prevents this

ok to go from 197bhp to 330bhp will need the internals are uprated say to Vxr spec an then some
new pistons, oil spray bars, new cams, bigger turbo, intercooler, exhaust manifold, inlet manifold,
some head work ie port an polish

new pistons aint a problem but why do the vaux tuners always go lo comp pistons when most ford tuners actualy raise comp by ceramic coating stuff instead ??

is it fairly easy to locate stuff then ??

    yep its easy
if you know any ford people they could do the mods for you as a lump is a lump at the end of the day
I know a good one in ilford called CTM they do a lot of ford stuff an vauxhall bits
    www.burtonpower.co.uk
they used ctm as they used to be in the same building

it wasnt a case of knowing any tuners, i have had vauxhaulls for the last 8 years and am had a z20let in a coupe before infact sten of here bought it from me, but i am now looking into a gsi and am thinking of how far to take it.

must admit not a big fan of off the shelf tuners i have been ripped off by both the two big names in the vaux industry and dont trust them at all anymore so like to do my reasearch before buying bits that can be found else where

i have a top mechanic, and would not be doing any engine work yet but may do a version of phase 5 at some point to it

what i thought of was {engine wise**

was standard pistons but coated and some good head work to match, a set of billet cams uprated springs, rods and bolts and then a suitably matched turbo with some tubular manifolds, does this seem sensible and if so what level of boost do you think would be possible ??

i have no problem with uprated pistons if need be but not sure wheter its needed
