Post Orange warning light on dash.... HELP!

    Hi everyone,

Over the weekend an orange light came up on my dash in my Coupe. It is square shaped with a star symbol n the middle?? Since the light has come on my air con does not work and engine temp is fluctuating up and down!

Can any one help me on what the problem is?

    Thanks

Was hoping it may be a fuse or something like that?

The light you refer to is the Electronially controlled engine cooling light the light should come on a few seconds when ignision is switched on then it should go out. If it lights up when the engine is running a fault as accured in the engine cooling system or the cooling circuit for the air conditioning. Elecronics will switch to emergancy running. You should check your coolant level. Thats basicly what it says in the owners manual.

    Cheers Chappy.

I have checked what I think is the coolant level (to the right hand side of the engine bay??) Whare the rim half way down the resoviour the level is just above that?

Will this knock my air con off mate?

    Please help!

In my Owners manual does say it is safe to drive. Thing is the engine temp goes up quite a bit! I have to put my heater fan on to cool it down!

    Any advice would be welcome

Has anyone had this light on their dash before?

    Cheers
