    Gauge Wiring??

    I'm not bad with most things car related but I suck with wiring so I was wondering if anyone could help me?? I've bought a boost gauge. I know how to get the boost gauge working, but I have no idea about the wiring for the LED backlighting?? It has 4 wires pictured here:

    I know black is the earth wire and I assume purple is positive, but clueless as to what the orange & yellow ones are or where to connect any of them? I'm fitting in the DIN slot in the center console.

    Any help is much appriciated.

    And as a bonus here are the instructions...

    OK, from your diagram as far as I can tell you should wire it as follows:_

    Black wire to an earth.
    Purple wire to an ignition switched 12v or illumination feed (Dash lights or side lights).
    Yellow wire to a permanent 12v feed.
    Orange wire to a switched 12v feed. (Might be for programming/setting up backlighting colour. Is there any other info available about this?)

    I would say

    Black earth as you know
    Purple illumination or if you want it to be lit up all the time connect it to a switched ignition live with the Orange
    Yellow Permanet live
    Orange switched ignition live

    Rik

    Seeing your post on Z-Let and now here with the instructions has reminded me what I did.

    I followed thier instructions:

    Yellow = permanenet live
    Black = earth

    The Orange and Purple wires need to go to switched positive feeds, but different ones, one needs to go to the light switch and the other to the ignition switch. The different options mean that the needles light up with the lights or ignition and the back lighting the other way round (hope that makes sence?).

    I am sure I wired my purple wire to the ignition switch so the needles light up with the ingition and orange to the light switch, you can wire them both to the light switch if you like.
    Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!
