    bloody oil leak

    i have a 51 reg 2.2 astra coupe
ive got a slight oil leak, its not coming from any of the top of the engine as i cant see any leaks. i cam onlyassume its coming from the midle or the bottom.

anyone any ideas, of just book it in vaux?

oh the oil ends up resting on the engine at the bottom, it doesnt drip on the floor, i assume it only leaks while driving

    help much aprecciated

At a guess it'll be the cam cover gasket. it's really not worth going to VX for TBH,

Check all the bolts are tight first - but not too tight (10nm)

The oil at the bottom is probably the stuff still running down the side and pooling.

Give the engine a good wipe down to get as much off as you can and then keep an eye on it, to see if it comes back

i did this, ive run it for about 1000 miles now, last time i checked i wiped it clean just after i drove it and the oil was a little hot.
i think it has to be a garage job
ill have another really good look around, u thin before drivin it or after, i assume after i will see the oil comin out
