look underneath and you'll see two pins - slide those out and the handle pulls off

Would of thought so, bit of a pain to re-fit - good luck!

my astra g 2001 doesnt have wires as such, it has the ribbon style wires and a small connector, i thought of soldering wires onto the pins of the plug and running the wires to the door courtesy light switches. Never tried it yet but just a thought!

The ribbon cable plugs straight into the OE illuminated grab handles, so it should be plug and play.

As Daren says, the fun comes when you want to refit the buggers

yeah the point i was making was if the ribbon wire and plug were not fitted in the guys car then he could solder wires onto the pins on the grab handle and run wires to the interior light or door switches, sorry if i didnt make that clear :-)

could someone whos either done the conversion or who has the illuminated handles post up which direction the wiring comes from? im wondering if its possibly coiled up somewhere i.e. base of pillar like the mk3's.

    cheers

It should be hanging ready to fit, iirc in the 5-door they were coming from
the front of the car... Have you sorted it yet?
