    painting calipers?

    just put ma 17" wolfrace ikons on and the calipers on the front look rusted and horrible!! is it ok 2 paint them red ( my astra's red ) and also ok 2 paint the rear wheels- the bit where the alloy attaches?

    why read this post titled "painting calipers" if you have no intention of replying? 17 ppl have viewed it and NO replies! whats that about? the title is pretty self explanatory.

    Yes it's ok to paint them. Try and mask off the rubber parts or even better dismantle the caliper and paint the parts seperately. Make usre you clean them very well beforehand.

    I used Hammerite Smooth from Halfords, still on after 18 months.

    looking good... mine already red and i laquered my disks trying to keep them rust free but 4 months later they starting to look tatty...

    was gonna paint them silver but i'm now thinkin gold..

    any pics of discs when your wheels on???

    mine drilled and grooved but pattern goes other way. is this a prob???

    your car do what u want. you could of been asking a few things bout painting them so people have to read it to find out what u wanted. stop gettin stressed or noone will help ur stupid questions

    Pic of the same disc 6 months on, still looking fairly good and the discs had been glowing on a few occasions and the paint still stayed on. You can see the gold paint when the wheels on but you have to be looking down into the wheel and I have no pics from that angle.

    Lee discs are ok as you have them fitted, makes little to no difference in performance. Before someone asks yes the Brembos are great and they perform better than good, like throwing a huge anchor out of the window and the pedal hardly moves at all, usually around 1/2" of travel before it's solid but it has bags of feel and I've only locked them up once.
