    Help- Setting up my sub and amp!

    iv just purchased this alpine sub in

    and this amp to power

    what power should i run it at the get the best from it, ie

    600W x 1 RMS [2 Ω @14.4V (1%THD)]
    400W x 1 RMS [4 Ω @14.4V (1%THD)]
    400W x 1 RMS [2 Ω @12V (1%THD)]
    250W x 1 RMS [4 Ω @12V (1%THD)]

    and how do i acheive running a sub at 2ohms please?

    That sub is a dual 4 ohm
    ... which means you can either wire it up as 2 ohm or 8ohm

    So to match the amp - 2 ohm should suit:

    so what power would that be running at on the amp then?

    and how do i go about wiring in..do i need wire with multiple connections on them?

    That will give your sub between 400 and 600 rms...

    Your connections on your sub will be push down to open I think
    - so just put your two wires in as per diagram..and close the sub connection.

    Wire from amp + to first coil +
    another wire from first coil + to second coil +

    Wire from amp - to first coil -
    another wire from first coil - to second coil -

    so four bits of speaker cable.


    I'll just try and look at your amp manual ....
