i asked them that and they didnt advise it, because he said if the shaft isnt long enough then its possible that the cv joints are not the correct ones for that car or gearbox.

here you can see the gap......

it was about 2 inches shorter, so i kicked up a fuss in the shop so the guy double checked the computer and it was definatly the one, so he called the company and they said that it will be a few inches shorter due to it being compressed and having new joints on it, and that when its fitted it will be perfect!!

i wasnt sure but i took their word for it, they said there was only one and this is it, im a swimming teacher who picks stuff up as i go along.. i wasnt to know any different,

i guess i been shafted with a drive shaft lol

Just checked on ECP and there are 6 different shafts listed, but it gives no indication what the difference is

whats ecp?? and you say 6? when i spoke to vauxhall today they confirmed that there is only one for my car!! they were obviously looking in the wrong place!!!
i hate incomptent people they cost me so much time and money.

i think what im going to do is put my old one back on for the weekend, take it off sunday night send it away monday morning and they recondition my one, that way there should be no problem then? would you agree? and i get it back 3 days later!!

ECP is Electronic Parts Catalogue and something I don't have

Just looked a bit further into it - are there any two letter ident codes on the shafts?
