Right, I know the theory of cone filters not suiting astras due to the warm engine bay air. But Iíve just got a near new Pipecross filter from next to nothing for a mate to fit my 1.8 16v 2001 coupe. Iíve let it wear in over the past few days and gave it a right good rip tonight, And I have to say Iím sure the car is faster. The only reason I say this is due to the road being one I use every day, Normally (with out the filter) I have to rag the car near to red lining in each gear to get about 95-100 mph in roughly ľ mile, With the pipe cross on I had 105 mph only having to go to about 5 Ĺk on the revs. So if cone filters really donít suit astras why does mine feel faster?
