    Road Angel or TomTom

Im wanting to buy a piece of GPS equipment for my car however im not sure what i should invest in. Im strung between either the new tomtom one-great britian (£170) and the road angel (£122). I understand the sat nav unit will pick up speed camera's but ive also heard the road angel picks up laser guns etc.

Which in your opinion will be the best purchase and why?

    Thanks guys

tomtom hands down the Road angel lags way behind in interface and useability. Also you might want to wait a few weeks(2 or so) as the new tomtom one is out.

yeh mate, thats the one im on about. I was considering the road angel only because of its laser gun function.

The laser gun function is a waste of time as by the time it warns you you have been done, so pointless really. The only effective thing is a laser diuffuser but those will be outlawed soon as will the laser gun detectors, so IMHO stick with the tom tom one

Don't bother with any of them. Buy a Medion MDPNA175 off Ebay for between £70 - £100 and bang TOMTOM on it and the lastest speed camera database

Considering that a legit copy of TOMTOM costs £100 upwards together with the cost of the medion, not much of a saving from just buying the TOMTOM one. Oh and the added benefit of the one supposedly is it will be running version 6 not version 5.

TomTom One is amazing, never been let down by it. (even lists near-by Wetherspoons and Jane is great to argue with!!)

Where can you get the new tomtom 1 for £170? If its www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk its £199 inc VAT + postage so your better off buying it from www.play.com with free delivery.

    Always remember the vat lol

I bought a O2 Exec PDA and put CoPilot 6 on it.

This way I have mobile phone, text, bluetooth, wireless (great for jumping onto unsecured networks) Word, Excel and all the usual things a PDA has etc etc.
