    Hi folks, just wandering if my 2000 1.8 (X1 is flange or sleeve fitting?

    I agree, get underneath and have a look to make sure, but at a guess I'd say it was flange

    I take it you want to change the back box? The flange fitting is visable, its about 6" towards the front of the car, follow the exhaust. you will see a joint held together with two bolts. If its a sleeve, the middle section slides into the back box

    if that makes sense
