    Do certain marques ....

Have a stigma attached to them ??

I'll explain, i have been to look at a TVR yesterday, now its a lovely car but the salesman took some details and commented 'your rather young to be looking at something like this' I aksed him what he meant and he explained they tend to deal with middle aged individuals - fair enough i thought. Went to the Porsche garage this morning after dropping the Renault off and get told the same again.

I dont know if its the cars, a Tuscan and 911 C4 respectively, or just the fact the majority of customers are older ....... kinda got me freaked out and alittle intrigued. So do certain marques have a stigma/age group/certain type of person attached to them ???

i think its down to the cost of the cars, and not many younger people buying them.

when i went to get a test drive on a VXR astra, the salesman was shocked! his words "have you considered an SXI? i think you will be more suited to one, i have one and they are great!"

i just pointed to my ACT in the car park

Well IMO TVR's / Porches etc come with 'mid-life crisis' tags attached to them. Very nice cars though and would love to have one myself

I think salesmen/women tend to think that if you are not a certain age then how could you afford to buy something prestigious as a Porsche or TVR, bit of snobbery if you ask me.

End of the day though mate, if you want one and can afford one I wouldnt let other peoples opinions put you off. Your the one with a nice sports car
Id have second thoughts about a TVR though, although there stunning cars there pretty fragile and there built by 17/18 year olds on apprentiships.
