Angry Bad day on the M11

Not sure if anyone else travelled on this today around the standstead area but my god what a day!!
Set off from brentwood essex picked the M11 up straight away to be greeted by severe smoke near junction 7.. Buses were turning round the whole M11 was blocked right near the standstead slip road as a red Audi was on fire another car completely burnt out and a camper van involved as well... Was stuck there for 50 minutes trying to get off the slip road and then re join the M11..

    THEN!

Gets going and stopped again.. not sure why but then heard on the radio that junctin 8-9 was a 16 mile tail back 70 minute delays due to an illegal rave and arrests going on so police had put the M11 down to 1 lane!!! This ended up being a 27 mile tail back which took 2 hours!!

When i finally got to the area which was down to one lane there was NO police nothing just cones not letting you use it. Cars had been bombing down the hardshoulder with 4way flashers on due to the delays and i saw 6 cars that had bumped the one in front due to not taking any notice.!!

All in all it took me 5 hours and 10 minutes to go 104 miles!!! and now i need a gin!!

    rant over!!

Went across J8 roundabout at around 3.30 time and all was ok on the motorway, no holds up or nothing, not even any sign of anything had been going on.

Sounds very strange account of affairs going on!! Glad I didnt use it this morning now!

Well, yesterday is what's known as "Black Saturday". Basically, it's another traditional marching day over here in our little country, so most of the towns are closed off for band parades, which means endless detours.
