Zafira 1.8 Elegance - Power Sounder Query

Right... I have followed all the threads I could on this and other GM related sites.
The problem is the alarm going off when after 10 mins 20 mins etc, I have located the power sounder cut open, bought the recommended replacement batteries (from cellpack as per "How to..guide" ), opened the blighter. Three observations
    1. Completely different batteries - varta ones in the PS , emerich ones from cell pack, could be adapted quite easily
    2. Voltage on both PS batteries 4.02v
    3. Someone somewhere mentioned that the rear 1/4 windows on zafiras can give faults that trigger the alarm.

Has anyone out there got any ideas?
    Regards
    Farghi

since removing the power sounder, as the alarm gone off????

if not, then its the power sounder thats at fault.

i had same problem, and yes the batteries are different.
maplins does the correct type of battery though.

    Power sounder woes!

Thanks for the replies, I have removed and replaced the power sounder with the ignition turned on ( so as to avoid using the Tech II programming
thungummy for the power sounder was reconnected )

If I disconnect the PS-er does the main alarm still operate OK, I read it was connested to the central locking?

The cars battery is playing up occcasionally struggling to start the engine with all sorts of lights flashing and beeps eminating from all over the car!!!

Probably try disconnecting the PS-er if it doesnt eff up the alarm or central locking- then put a new battery on the car

Once again thanks for the replies - will post on progress Ta La
