    GSI Engine Remap

Hi ppl, new here, have an astra gsi 2003 model. The need for speed has overcome me and i am now looking to have the engine remapped. Vauxhall's, or rather vxrperformance centre in oxford will remap it for me taking it up to 250BHP and jus under 300lb torque. To do that is £480. I have heard of regal and superchips. Has anybody got any experience of these companies. Obviuosly i want the most for the least amount of money. All i want to do other than that is fit a SS exhaust system.
    What do we reckon?

    Thanks

Where do you live? - it's best to go close to home, then if anything cocks up, it's less hastle to get it sorted

if only i could. still live at home n theres no way i could fit in the garage, cos we had an extension built. not my idea lol i just live there. i garage it at my girlfrinds tho. But i must say that the astra mk4s r so easy to break into. owned 2 im my life both broken into in exactly the same way. once you see the damage or tiny hole in dr door make u realise just how easy it is. probably takes seconds.

    Firstly welcome!

I'm afraid though your unlikely to get 250bhp with just a remap matey.
The engine will need to breath in a little better - induction mods £50 - £150
Those gases could also do with escaping - Many different exhaust options available
The heat from that fast spinning turbo is never good either - A larger or even front mounted intercooler - £200 - £400

Best to keep reading up on this site and take advantage of the tried and tested advise we might be able to give out.
    Cheers Paul

would love to do all those things you said, but i cant cos my insurance co wont take for any mods, therefore a remap is a gd mod which is not obvious. my thinkin is that you would have to physically check the ecu map to know if it was standard or not. does that make sense? I shall continue here tomorrow lol, at work leaving at ten.

    Cheers

    Burt.

You need to do the air box mods, pre cat pipe then a remap. That would get you 236ish bhp.... To get any more you need to get intercooler, exhaust etc.
