    Angry occassional blue smoke

    ive noticed at low speed 5 or so times today a puff of about 3-6 sec of blue smoke any ideas ? had vxr turbo and cs3 remap 2 and a half weeks ago

    unless the vxr turbo is faulty then it sounds like either piston rings or valve stem seals - what mileage have you done?

    Might be better in tech btw.

    yeah i had this on m 2.0 xev ... not sure about if it could be turbo but if its not that i wouild say valve stem seals .. as if it was pistom rings it would get worst with revs .. does it sort of clear if you hold down the revs .. just sperts now and then ?

    45thousand miles serviced regulary oil changed at most every 6000

    clears if i rev it and yer just now and then normaly when im going slow or in traffic

    My GSI does the same, it smokes when starting and occasionally when driving in traffic. Its worse when i pull away from junctions as it leaves a plume of blue smoke. Its going in next week for the valve stem seals replaced. 50000 mls fully serviced etc.
    There is a tool available that allows the seals to be replaced without stripping the engine apparently.

    had oil changed with new turbo 3 weeks ago but have checked it and its fine
