    Thumbs Up ECU Type on a 1600 16v R plate X16XEL

    Sorry wonder if you can help the diag socket on the car is a 16 pin connector. is there a cheapish shop bought toll that will read the codes.


    Is this the newer oddb? type of diags, or something else

    Your post isn't clear (try re-reading before posting next time!), but I think you're asking about how to read fault codes?

    A paper clip will read the codes on that ages of a car. Do a search for paperclip test.

    No, your car isn't OBD - that came in on the 2001 model in the Astra.
