    Headlights gone

I noticed last night both my dipped headlight bulbs had gone, now both bulbs going at the same time is rare, so im thinking it could be a relay? sidelights and main beam are working fine, i have checked all fuses and they are fine.

    Any help appriciated,

    cheers

what kinda bulbs were they? if they were ebay cheap n nasty so called xenon look shite then its run of the mill... if they were relatively normal halogen bulbs then it does seem a little odd. have u since replaced the bulbs? if so do they work now...cos if the new ones dont work then maybe it could be the relay. swap it with another one to find out.

also have ur old bulbs actually blown or did they just stop ...

the above is probs way off the mark but just throwin up some suggestions. Hopefully its just a cheap fix and nothin major.

The bulbs were in the car when i got it, they look like halogen, i have swapped a few relays round, they all seem to work, by the looks of things the dipped lights dont have a relay just a fuse, going off the diagrams, etc, there only seems to be a relay for the main beam lights. So ive isolated the realy and the fuses, so im gonna go halfrauds and get a few bulbs, if they dont work, i will be really scratching my head.

One blowing could have sent a minor power spike to the other one which could have been ready to go anyway? Just a thought?

Mine would tend to go at the same time, or within days of eachother. Usually after someone slams the bonnet (IE after it's been serviced or MOT'ed).

Relay for the dips is under the dash.
