to LET or not to LET????

not sure, think i need advise from the AS crew! lol

My astra externally is as i like, i have coilover suspension and GSi breaks, do i stick with my current 1.8 engine which isnt exactly slow, or do i Z20 LET the bi'atch?

if i dont i will prob sell the car come summer 2007 and go seat leon/ibiza cupra R 20V T or serious power stripped out beastly thing as i wil have a company car by then

Not entirly sure, just thinking of resale value, do engine conversions put people off?? i know on here people will know i dont except shitty work when it come to my car so they can be rest assured the job will be top,

im on the 50/50 line atm

id say if you could get the LET at good money go for that cus if you sell it you will have to start from scratch with your new car im not sure if engine conversions devalue cars ive seen pics of your car and it looks like youve done it properly so i think it will sell at a good price it only seens to devalue it is the seller has bodged everything and appers in his burrbry hat

personally if i knew it was a good conversion...i'd value it higher than a standard 1.8 sport, especially if it was a reconditioned block...thats just me though, but I'm sure there are others who think that way

its worth letting up your motor...would complete the car nicely

then sell it to me in a year when i can insure it

Your car is a nice one mate, but you're talking a good few grand to do the work, money that you'll probably never see back, not to mention trouble of resale. As it stands your car should get snapped up with all the nice mods.

again it comes down to the usual dilema of spending the money to create something special, which unfortunately doesn't get fully appreciated until you take it to a show, or get a car that you're happy with performance wise and subtley mod that.

If it was a 2.2 a super charger would be quite original

Ive been thinking of doing this myself. But Ive heard alot of bad press about the C20LET. Is it just the bodgers u gotta look out for or is it genuinely an unreliable engine?

i dont think the C20 LET suits my car, engines have styles imo, 1.6 with TB etc says something differnt to a C20 LET to a Z20 LET imo,

If i had bretts car i wud C20 it is it suits his aggressive look,

My suitble look the Z20 is more at home
