    gsi turbo

i've got a mk4 astra turbo and when the revs get to 4 grand it hesitates for a second then starts pulling again and sometimes when i'm ragging it, it blows a puff of black smoke out when changing gear but theres just a little smear of oil in the air intake pipe which i've been told is normal. could anyone tell me what it could be?

If the car has the standard map it is quite normal to hesitate a bit. A small amount of oil in the pipe that runs from the intercooler to the inlet plenum is also quite normal as is black smoke when flooring it or changing gear when ragging it. Most vauxhalls do let out a puff of black smoke when initially floored.
