hi there, i'd try to see if you have blown the fuse as the cig lighter and courtesy lights usually come on the same fuse. if its that i'd put i slightly stronger fuse in if your wiring them up to it.

is there no fuses in the tv itself? what lead were u powering the tv with? and does the lead not have a in-line fuse fitted? if for instance u were using it with a cig lighter cord then the plug would usually have a fuse fitted.

Only way you could have blown the TV is if you wired it up back to front when you first put it to the glovebox light

You have nothing to loose taking it apart to see if there's a fuse in there. Apart from that if it was expensive take it to a professional and get a quote for a repair

£60 plus postage? but that was a good few month ago...

same ones on ebay going for £40 - £80 now so. might cost too much to repair. i'll strip it and have a play tommorow... cheers

p.s, while on subject of electric's. need advice on 3 prong switches. the ones that glow up when on etc.

if i make sense, it looks like live to middle, neg to one side then the 3rd i guess is for the light when on? how would you wire this. cheers..
