    The 888 Van - ECU

Curious... the VXR performance centre offers remaps yes? ... alot of people have said (I personally dont know if its true) that the remaps are just EDS ones that can also be done at Regal Autosports.

    Now, my question.

First, the engine: Out came the standard engine and in its place went a 2-litre petrol turbo unit (found in the Astra and Zafira). Not content with its 204 bhp, our engineers then reprogrammed the ECU to produce 239 bhp (@5,5000rpm) and develop 239 lb/ft (@3,500rpm).

That van was made in early 2005, is that remap also the EDS one? or is it a custom map?

Phase 1 – Increases power to 234bhp and 274ftlb torque.

That is the EDS Phase I and it is different (on paper) to the map that is said to be in the 888 Astravan.

Can anyone shed light onto this?

The figures shown for the 888 van though are different to what Regal say. Is it possible the VXR centre uses the EDS stuff but back when this one-off van was made, it had a custom map?

The VPC offer a warranty of sorts (that people are yet to discover) so the regal maps will always give the best it can for the mods the car has, if a warranty is involved it may be that the VPC are being careful and holding a little back just to make sure there are no repercussions!

Either way regal/EDS are supplying the maps

It's possible Scott that the van had an early version of an EDS map, or like Mat says they were tuned down a bit to hold warranties. It's also possible that it was an early version of a map used for testing for the products they sell now.
