There maybe trouble ahead for me

oh dear oh dear oh dear

It seems that I may well get shafted by the DVLA!!

I took my car of the road around the same time I moved house and got rid of my old flat (I had both for about a year). It seems that I have done the following:

    1. lost the log book for the car

    2. didnt declare the car sorn

    3. Didnt inform the DVLA of my change in address

So all in all I am going to get shafted I think, I am going to be looking at non payment of car tax for 4 years (near enough) plus fines for non payments, plus any court costs if its gone that far All due to me obviously not being at the old address.....

Not looking forward to going to the DVLA office tomorrow now Wish me luck

you declared your change of address and included your sorn notification in the same envelope when you posted it to the dvla m8. , PS didnt you take your car off the road before sorn was a legal requirement ?

    Ah.

Well, you only need to make a SORN for a vehicle that had a licence in force on or after 31 January 1998... How long has your car been in the workshop for now

I believe he's trying to say the letter you sent them informing them of the above was "lost in the post"...

I got done in '02 for not SORNing my Panda so yer sh|t outta luck there mate
I got a £60 fine for not declaring it SORN and had to backdate the tax, which was about 9 months... 3 years though, ouch

Best of luck tomorrow though mate, I dont envy you. Hope it all goes well...

bite the bullet and go in and see what's what. be honest and explain what's being going on. they might well let you away with some of it.
