    Cool Following on.......Oddjob's cup holder thread

    Following on from Oddjob's 7 page thread on a cup holder, i went and bought myself one and fitted it today. Ken (Oddjob) fited his to the lower DIN slot, whereas I've fitted mine into the top DIN.

    Here's Ken's orginal 'How-To';
    http://www.m1gst.com/vb/showthread.p...ht=holder+saab

    The only difference when you're fitting it into the top DIN is that you need to Remove the Stereo cradle from behind the console (it's held in with 2 torx T20's). Also there is no need to trim the 2 triangular pieces back. However, there is a bracket on the bottom of the cover that nees removing (its shaped like this [____] ).

    Anyway, here's some pics of the finished product

    And to resolve the problem of losing the storage from the cubby hole:

    Irmy Armrest - thanks to Leeann (Girl_Racer)

    EDIT: Better armrest pics posted.

    As Usual, comments are more than welcome

    Liek that, although wouldn't personally have coins bit in there with a badge saying "coins" on it. Hows the armrest?

    Think you mean the ashtray mate, and no the armrest doesn't cover it up, IIRC the irscher armrest secures in place with 4 screws, two inside the armrest and 2 at th back

    I have 6 in the coupe. Used to be 7.

    My arm rest (best thing ever in a car!) goes into the middle cup holder in front of the rear ash tray and behind the hand brake.

    Nice one Gaz. I think I prefer your fitment to mine. Only reason I didn't fit mine in the top DIN was because I was a little rushed at the time and couldn't be bothered removing the entire stereo as I've lost my C pullers you need to remove the CD player. I thought I'd try the bottom DIN and see how it went, I'll move it upward when I replace the centre console in a month or so.

    As for the coin drawer comment, it's fairly easy just to draw over the coin sign with a black felt tip if your concerned about it encouraging break ins.
