    Setting up an uprated Actuator

Does anyone know how to do this.
    Currently running CS3.

Had it all fitted up at Courtenays a couple of months back, as Im currently using the standard Actuator of the VXR Turbo. One thing Courtenays did say is to replace this with the uprated item. In order to hold a bit more boost.

Rather than taking a 3 1/2 hour drive just to get there and have it fitted could I fit/set this up at home.

    Anyone done this before????

Mike - you need a tool to do it properly. Can't remember the name of it, but basically it is a hand pump with a dial on it, this attaches to the vacuum pipe of the actuator and measures the psi at which the wastegate opens (you can physically see it when it pushes the lever open) - The uprated actuator has a stronger spring inside, so it keeps the wastegate closed for longer and therefore maintains a slightly higher boost level before bleeding the excess pressure into the exhasut.

You could fit it yourself - but if it is set to open too early, you will loose pressure and have no power, if you set it to open too late - say goodbye to your turbo.

Try and find a turbo specialist closer to you?

bottle of noz, boost gauge on a 't' piece going to the actuator and set it to 22psi. but i think i'd rather get a tuner to set it up.

Is it a standard VXR actuator or standard z20let actuator, i adjusted my vxr actuator up 2 turns to get the torque up a bit (3270lb/ft to 337 and it also bumped the power up 6 bhp (288-294 bhp) but then the boost dropped off a bit earlier. That is on EDS phase 3 with VXR injectors and adjusted map.
