225/45/17 or 215/45/17 tyres for zafira?

what fitment is best as some retailers have differant size tyres on alloy wheel packages, or are both ok?

225/45/17 is the original Zaffy fitment on GSi etc so this would be the one to go for. Although the GSi rims were indentical to the ones fitted to the Astra GSi - the Astra used 215/40/17.

Stick with 225/45/17 and you'll be right.

the sri zaf' used 215/45/17 so both are fine.

the difference is so tiny its not worth worrying about mate.

    take a 215/45/17
the 215 is the thread width in mm.
the 45 is the % of tyre wall height in relation to its tread width (in this case 215mm).

the height difference is 1cm tyre wall height between both trye sizes IIRC (10.61mm for the 215, 11.11mm for the 225)

u'd get very slightly taller gearing from the 225's, shorted ratio's from the 215's, it depends if there are clearnace issues.
