    Question Strut Brace?

Forgive me for being an idiot but what does a struct brace do and is it worthwhile getting 1?

The theory is that a strut brace stops the suspension mount points from moving relative to each other, thus limiting camber changes under load. They are relatively easy to fit (depending on which model you choose) and are a definite improvement in stiffening up the front end...presuming you have uprated suspension that is.
Fitting one to standard suspension I suppose has its uses but would be more beneficial fitted to an uprated setup.

so in plain english it makes the suspension on either side work together instead of individually?

no - it helps maintain suspension and steering geometry, buy reducing flex in the inner wings

On standard suspension it's really not worth it as there is enough damping in the shocks and bushes to pretty much negate any benefits of a brace.

However if yo've got uprated shocks and springs, then it's IMO worthwhile as more force is being transfered to the bodyshell, hence more flex.

But either way they do look nice
